OpenAI released the Sora AI video generator for public use on day three of their 12 days of OpenAI. Sora was an instant hit, and there was a long queue to sign in to access the AI video generator. However, once everyone gained access, more people started creating fun and intriguing videos using the AI video generator. We even covered the AI video generator completely and showed how to use Sora to generate stunning AI videos . Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, announced unlimited Sora access to all ChatGPT Plus users.
Unlimited Sora Access Announced:
Twelve days of OpenAI ended with the announcement of the ChatGPT o3 and o3-mini AI models , and the latter is expected to be released by the end of January 2025.
Even after the end of the OpenAI shipmas, Sam Altman, via X (Twitter), tweeted that OpenAI is giving all plus users unlimited Sora access via the relaxed queue over the holidays! The reason for this was also stated in the same tweet. This is because OpenAI GPUs get a little less busy during late December as people take a break from work.

This shows that a vast number of people use OpenAI’s services on a day-to-day basis. OpenAI was known for ChatGPT and Dall-E , and now OpenAI is known for the Sora AI video generator.
Rohan Sahai from OpenAI later tweeted that OpenAI has also rolled out Sora access for all Teams users and upgraded the blend feature. Another major update was shared links; Sora users can share their AI video creations with friends—even if they don’t have an account.

Even though the OpenAI shipmas ended, they still managed to announce these big updates. We never know what to expect from this AI company.
