Today is day three of 12 days of OpenAI, where the AI startup promised 12 livestreams with many new things, big and small. OpenAI’s main point of conversation today was ChatGPT Canvas , which was previously in beta. Canvas allows you to collaborate with ChatGPT in writing and coding, which goes beyond simple chat. We have made a mini guide for you to get started with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Canvas.
OpenAI announced 3 things today:
- ChatGPT Canvas by OpenAI is now available for everyone.
- Users can now run Python codes within Canvas to show you the text or graphics output.
- Canvas is now available in custom GPTs.

To get started with ChatGPT Canvas:
Choose the GPT-4o model and, from the tools, choose Canvas. You can then enter your prompt and see your content being generated on the spot.

You can collaboratively edit the content generated by ChatGPT. Users can also use commonly used shortcuts to improve their content.

Get feedback on your work in ChatGPT Canvas:
If you want to get feedback on a piece of work, you can paste your text into the prompt box and open it in Canvas. Once opened, you can edit it as much as you want.

ChatGPT will specifically highlight the points where it wants to give you feedback. It will also specify the given feedback for better understanding. Each feedback has an apply button that will allow ChaGPT to apply the edit, which you can go back to at any time.

Programming in Canvas:
You can open your codes similarly to the text you did earlier in Canvas. You can ask ChatGPT to fix and run the code within the Canvas.

ChatGPT can pinpoint what’s wrong and help you fix the problems with your Python codes. ChatGPT Canvas can differentiate between text and Python code, making it easier to make the changes and run codes.

Bringing Canvas in Custom GPTs:
GPTs are a way to give ChatGPT custom institutions and contexts that can benefit you and others. To get started with Canvas in Custom GPTs , you don’t need to click any button. You just need to input your question, and ChatGPT will determine if Canvas is the right thing to do.

Users can choose to add the Canvas option while building their Custom GPTs on the configuration page.

Conclusion:
OpenAI’s ChatGPT Canvas is available to all web users for all plans, whether you are a free, Plus, or Pro user. Canvas is now a default experience in GPT-4o regardless of a subscription plan. Users can use their own content in Canvas or perform code execution, and it is now also available in custom GPTs. Canvas is now available to all users.
